8th grade students are continuing their study of drawing from observation. They made contour line drawings of their non-dominant hand and focused on the positive and negative space. Once they developed two drawings, they examined and emphasized the shape of the negative space with colored paper.

BFA Remembers 9/11 First Responders
Eighth grade students visited the Town of Lake Park’s Fire Station on Thursday for a 9/11 Remembrance event. Students shared profiles of victims, and Mr. John Napolitano spoke and shared a video and artifacts with students and local first responders. Mr. Napolitano , who has been with BFA since 2008, is a former NYPD officer and his son, also named John, was a firefighter with Rescue 2 FDNY, who died in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
