African Animals At Sunrise
Students at the Lighthouse Campus have been studying the continent of Africa. As an art extension of the their studies, students created paintings of different African animals. Students used watercolors to depict different animals at sunrise.

Read Across America Month
As part of Read across America month, Ms. Steier’s Language Arts classes have been researching their families’ histories - as increasing numbers of Americans were born in other nations, speak different languages, and carry different cultural traditions. 2nd Annual Live Like Jake 5k
We're excited to announce our participation in the 2nd Annual Live Like Jake 5K Run/Walk which takes place on May 14, 2016! Whether you're a runner or a walker, this is a fun event that raises proceeds for the Live Like Jake Foundation. The Foundation is a local, nonprofit 501c3 organization committed to funding scholarships for survival swim lessons, as well as providing financial support to families who have lost a loved one or have a child with critical care needs. Open Up These Doors To A World Of Reading

Faith Ringgold Inspired Quilts
For 5th - 8th grade art students, our Black History month artist focus was on Faith Ringgold. She is an artist, teacher, author and illustrator famous for her story quilts. The story quilts that she created came from her own life experiences and inspirations. Students thought about good memories from their own lives to illustrate and represent in a visual narrative. Volleyball Club Cancelled
The Volleyball Club that had been scheduled will not be held due to a lack of participation. Golf club continues to meet on Tuesdays with Coach Laders from 3:45-5pm. Field Day will be postponed until after testing, when we can take advantage of the beautiful Spring weather! We are still looking for volunteers to help make this event a great success. Come See The Nature Wall
Check out our Nature Wall at the Lighthouse elementary campus! It is hanging at the entrance to our office on the right hand side of the door. This is really an exciting project for our young students as they add to the wall any items that they find that come from nature around school, or their own homes and neighborhoods. BFA Wins Recycling Is An ART Contest!
Bright Futures Academy won $250 for the Art Department in ArtiGras’ “Recycling Is An ART” contest. Students decorated a recycling bin using found items and the bin went on display at last month’s ArtiGras festival.
