Book Fair Schedule
The Book Fair starts Tuesday, Oct. 4 and runs until Thursday, Oct. 6. Students will be able to preview the Book Fair, and then will have a return to trip to make their purchases. Books may be purchased during the first trip as well. Please see the schedule below to see when your student's class will visit the Book Fair.

Girls Volleyball Survives A Close One
The Girls Volleyball team defeated the Weiss School two sets to one. The Sharks Jumped out to an early first set victory 25-11 led by 8th graders Lucy B. and Destiny R. each with two aces. The Weiss School battled back in the second set, winning 25-15. The Bright Futures squad was able to rebound in the final set, winning 15-13. The season continues next week with three games, with a three game series against Franklin Academy of Boynton Beach, Tuesday Oct. 4 at Franklin, and

There is a saying about Mindful Eating: “Drink your food and chew your drink.”
Learning how to eat mindfully is an important lesson for everyone and especially beneficial to young students so they establish a lifelong pattern that can prevent obesity and stomach problems later in life. October Is Bullying Awareness & Prevention Month
October is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Month! WE'RE ALL IN!!.... is the message. Classes will be creating class projects that depict the message that "We're All In! People of all nationalities and cultures are welcome in this classroom!" October 19 is Unity Day. Students (and staff!) are encouraged to wear ORANGE. Students may wear an orange shirt with no pictures or words. Uniform bottoms must be worn. Unity Day is a national campaign. "Make it ORANGE and make it end!

Fourth Grade Matisse Pieces
Fourth grade art students studied the French artist Henri Matisse. Matisse "painted with scissors" and arranged colorful paper cut into organic shapes to create an interesting piece of art. We learned how to overlap and repeat shapes like Matisse as well as how to exhibit the principal of design, movement. All students became well versed in proper cutting and gluing techniques.

Conservation in Cultural Studies
In Cultural Studies class, elementary students have been learning about the Earth as a whole before we delve into specific regions. We discussed the continents, the World Commons, and the word "conservation". Students learned how they can help conserve Earth's resources through recycling, reusing, and reducing.
