This week was a busy one at Bright Futures Academy! It was the first week of the second quarter, the week of the Elementary Book Fair, the Lighthouse Costume Parade, the Riv-erside Halloween Dance, and if that wasn’t scary enough; report cards go home Monday! The Scholastic Book Fairs, under the direction of Sara Uppena, posted record sales numbers this year! With only two days on each cam-pus, there was almost $5000 in sales! The coin drive raised record amounts as well, with two Lighthouse classrooms posting new school records.
Congratula-tions to Ms. Clonch’s class, who set a new school record with $89.51 raised. An even bigger CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Carter’s class, who broke Ms. Clonch’s record with a whopping $100.15 in loose change collected! The Lighthouse Door Decorating contest was won by Ms. Clonch’s class, with Mrs. Nelson’s and Ms. Carter’s classes coming in second and third, respectively.
The Costume Parade was amazing! Princesses, zom-bies, zombie princesses – you name it, it was represented. The scares continued Friday evening at the Hal-loween Dance, where around 100 students partied and danced the night away. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Mario and a Ninja Turtle nae nae! We would love to thank all of the volunteers who made these events so wonderful for our students.
