6-8th grade students created simple, life-size mask forms with papier-mâché. They learned how to construct forms onto the mask using cardboard and rolled newsprint to create a more dynamic sculpture. Acrylic paint was used to decorate their masks. Below, clockwise from L: Stella B. 8th, Madison P. 7th, Haylie G. 8th, Lucy S. 6th, Essynce W. 6th, Hunter H. 7th. Several students created art out of non-traditional objects. Below that is an example by Madison P. (7th) created with beads, ribbon, recycled fabric, and nail polish.
