Visual Arts at BFA
8th grade artists have been honing their observational drawing skills by practicing drawing from still lifes set up in class. They are also using photographs for reference as we transition to figure drawing. The students are progressing their skills by observing the value changes that take place as light moves across the surface of objects. As they experiment using charcoal and graphite in these exercises, they will learn to portray a range of value changes and eventually work color into their pieces.
