Bright Futures Academy closed out the first half of the year with two wonderful events; the Häagen-Dazs Scoop Night at the Gardens Mall and the Holiday Program at Palm Beach Gardens High School. Scoop night was a heaping success, with many of our BFA faculty and staff taking turns whipping up milkshakes, sundaes, cups, and cones to the students’ and their families’ delight. Ms. Spohr’s kindergarten class had the most scoops served in a shift, and so wins the Ice Cream Party! Mr. Glynn’s 5th grade home team came in second place, and Ms. Cole’s second graders took third. With such sweet results though, everyone was a winner!
The Holiday Program on Thursday night was a rousing success. The hard work of the students, under the tutelage of Arts Director Mr. Suarez, along with Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Steier, and Ms. Burke, paid off as the crowd enjoyed seasonal favorites like, “Winter Wonderland”, “My Favorite Things”, and “Deck The Halls”. Featuring towering stacks of presents by Mrs. Fountain and her art students, the stage was draped in length after length of the Giving Chain, which collected $1000 this year to help BFA families in need.
The Palm Beach Children’s Chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Sandi Russell, also performed, and were joined by several BFA students who sang with them, accompanied by Mr. Jeremiah Cummings on the piano.
We at Bright Futures Academy would like to wish everyone a safe and happy winter break, and hope everyone has a very Happy New Year!
