The EDU-Garden Through The Eyes Of A Child
This week’s EDU-Garden™ News is by our special correspondent Ms. Courtney!
This Tuesday the EDU-Garden™ was full of hustle and bustle as we had the pleasure of hosting the elementary students for their monthly field trip. In the midst of the multitude, I was reminded of a quote - “There's joy and wonder everywhere when you see the world through the eyes of a child.” To the unsuspecting observer, the day's activities may have looked like organized chaos – children scattered throughout the garden, the sound of excited chatter and laughter filling the air. However, to each child there, the garden wasn't just a garden, but a landscape of amazement and new experience. As they stepped off the bus, they were transported to a place where there are no desks to sit still at, no books to write in, and no tests to pass. Where else can a child go to sit under the shade of a tree for story time, sample a fruity green smoothie made with freshly harvested kale, or have an up close encounter with rabbits and chickens? Our very own EDU-Garden™ offers all of this and so much more! As we grow older, our vision can easily become clouded by so many things. I hope that we can all take a moment to step back, and see the world through the eyes of a child, so we don't miss the simple magic that lies right in front of us.
