We had a very exciting weekend for BFA arts!

Please CONGRATULATE 6th grader

3rd in the 6th grade
category and Madison P. for placing 2nd in the 7th grade category.
Both pieces were on display over the weekend. New this year, in an effort to give additional exposure and recognition to our young artists, winning artwork from the ArtiGras Youth Art Competition will also be displayed at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Art Fest by The Sea on March 12 & 13, 2015 in Juno Beach. This is a free event and we encourage students, teachers, and parents to attend the festival and view the winning pieces. For more information about Art Fest by The Sea, visit www.artfestbythesea.com.
Also, Artigas hosted a contest called “Recycling is an ART”
where students from schools all over the county had a chance to decorate a recycling bin. This year’s theme was “Amazon Adventures: Colors of the Rainforest.” Middle school BFA Art students worked collaboratively to create a bright and colorful recycling bin using recyclable materials like bottle caps, paint stirrers, plastic bottles, bubble wrap, and other types of “garbage” in their design.
The top ten schools with the most “likes” on the photos of their bins on Facebook would be awarded $250 to the art department! I am happy and proud to say that BFA made the top ten!
THANK YOU to all staff, students, friends and family of BFA who “liked” and shared our recycling bin photo! I hope some of you had a chance to attend ArtiGras, and if not this year, then next year! Thank you for supporting the arts! Go BFA!
