Announcing Our Partnership With Academica!
We have EXCITING news!
Bright Futures Academy would like to announce its partnership with the education support provider, Academica.
Who is Academica? Academica is one of the nation’s longest-serving and most successful charter school Education Service Providers (ESP). The company was founded in 1999 and headquarters are located in Miami, Florida. Academica supports over 100 schools in 5 states, to include the Somerset, Pinecres
t, Ben Gamla, SLAM and Mater networks. Academica services the largest number of high performing charter schools in the state of Florida and U.S. News & World Report named the Academica supported, International Studies Charter High School (ISCHS) the 2015 Best High School in Florida. In addition to its #1 statewide ranking, ISCHS ranks #4 Best Charter School in the country, #13 Best High School in the United States and is a Gold Medal winner for providing students with an excellent college-preparatory education, earning 100% on its college-readiness index.
How does this affect BFA? Joining with Academica means great things for our school, to include funding opportunities for a new campus! As you know we have been trying for many years to get our students on one site, and we are working toward this goal for a possibility of opening in the fall/winter of 2016! Additionally, working with Academica means that we have access to better opportunities for our staff, to encourage retention. It also means that we will have a broader network of schools and programs for our families and staff, as we know people often relocate. Please visit Academica’s website to find school locations in Florida and across the country www.academica.org. We are also looking to update our computers and textbooks.
Leadership Transition: Our school founder and leader, Kendall Artusi, will be transitioning from her role as our School Leader, to a new role working directly for Academica as Service and Support Coordinator for Palm Beach County and will be providing support to the BFA network through her new position. Mr. DiGiacinto will also be transitioning into a different position outside of BFA, but will remain involved with the facilities and acquisitions of our BFA schools.
In addition to improving the current BFA program, we are working to expand the BFA brand to other areas in the state and country. Check our website for updates as we work to improve our school and provide parents with more choice! Mrs. Janine Korody and Mrs. Ashley Slone will be replacing Mrs. Artusi & Mr. DiGiacinto for the remainder of the year. Mrs. Korody has been with BFA for 12 years and has worked in nearly every position at BFA, to include Principal, Assistant Principal, Aftercare Director, ESE Coordinator and Chief Financial Officer. Ashley Slone has been with BFA for 5 years and has worked as an Assistant Principal, Transportation Director, Food Service Director, Compliance Manager, and Human Resources Director.
We believe that together they make an exceptional team. We are looking forward to an exciting transition and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us at any time!
Thank you for being a part of the BFA Family!
