BFA Applies For Green Schools Prize

You’ve probably never heard of the Green Schools Recognition Program, but
it is a really big deal! The Green Schools Recognition Program seeks to encourage schools to create cultures of learning so students will work towards a sustainable future. The
Green Schools Recognition Program is a joint partner-
ship of Florida Atlantic University and Pine Jog Environmental, along with
the School District of Palm Beach County. There is an impressive array of awards
for the 2016 “going green” schools, including cash
prizes in several categories. Over $12,000 is
 awarded each year to the
 top Green Schools – and
this year Bright Futures Academy might be one of them!

Being Green is a big part of the program here at BFA, and not just in the EDU- Garden® but across all of our campuses. We take a stand for the environment and teach our kids the importance of our ecosystems. Ms. Kendall and her tireless support team of teachers and staff submitted an application this week – sixty three pages of explanations, policies, pictures, diagrams – it certainly is thorough!

It’s also a beautiful history of our school. We are so proud of BFA and we truly believe that we have a good chance, maybe even for the top prize! Check out www.ourgreenschools.com for more information! You can also read our application here.
