BFA Celebrates School Choice Week

Bright Futures Academy will celebrate National School Choice Week with several projects and a parent social.

During the week of January 23-27, students in each home room class will add why they’re glad to have a choice in their education to special posters. Students spent time in home room designing T-shirts illustrating why they love their choice school. A design will be selected from grades K-2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, and 7 and 8 and put on the school’s Facebook page. The design with the most likes by 6 PM Friday, January 27 will be produced and sold! The finalist’s home rooms will also receive prizes.

We will be handing out treats in our carlines on January 23 as a “thank you” to our families who have chosen Bright Futures Academy. On Thursday, January 26, past, present and potential BFA parents are invited to join us in the EDU-Garden® for a social from 5 PM to 7 PM. This is a parent-only event, and light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to Mrs. DeRosa by Wednesday, Jan. 25 if you are planning on attending by emailing

On Friday, January 27, Middle School students will be performing the School Choice Week “Official Dance” - keep an eye on our website and YouTube channel for the video! The Elementary School students will be decorating their classroom doors as well.

BFA is one of more than 13,000 schools participating in National School Choice Week (January 22–28, 2017). The goal of the Week is to shine a positive spotlight on all types of education options for children—from traditional public schools to public charter schools, magnet schools, private schools, online learning and homeschooling.

“We are thrilled to have BFA participate in National School Choice Week by holding this special event,” said Andrew Campanella, National School Choice Week president. “The Week provides an opportunity for families in communities across America to discover more about the education options available to children. We salute the students, teachers and staff at BFA for their dedication to providing a quality education for children, and for their involvement in this nationwide celebration.”

To vote on the T-Shirt designs, visit between Jan. 23 and Jan. 27.
